One of my favorite museums is San Jose’s Museum of art. It isn’t the largest museum or the most well known. Nor does it attract the biggest crowds or bring in the most glorious art. Instead it is intimate, open, and all mine. It the type of museum that I can talk as loud as I want, hang out for hours, bring my laptop and work in front of a favorite piece, and hang out with 40 something woman and build robots.
This past week, San Jose Musuem of art held a studio smash. A studio smash is when they bring in a local artist that is relevant to their exhibits and let us take over a room and create art. One of their current exhibits is all about robots and the coolest pieces ever! One piece is a robot made of Styrofoam crates that towers to the top of the arched ceiling. I am not sure how tall it is, but at my height of 5’3 I only reach his knees.
Check out my robot below and enjoy all its gloriousness. The crooked stitch is on purpose
