For my photography class at SJSU we are working on a self portrait series. At first, I hate the idea of having to capture myself in an image because all I had in my mind was the myspace mirror pose or the one handed gummy bear face shot. I decided instead to go abstract but once I started to really think about this project I got really excited…
Innocence? In a sense.
Welcome to the beginning of my new series. Forget this being a 5-series assignment, I want to really expand this and potentially make it a long term piece. “Innocence? In a sense.” is a series of my current place in society. I am torn between staying a little girl and starting to feel the pull of adulthood. If Britney Spears was here instead of dining with Mel Gibson she would say, “not a girl, not yet a woman.”
But in truthfulness, I am always going to be quirky, goofy Danielle. I will always make a joke at inappropriate times. Blow large bubbles in my gum during the sermon at church. Be an adult with a heart of a child. This series, taken to some extremes, will show that side and I am so excited to start revealing it to you. As I take pictures I would love your commentary. I am still working out whether to do it black and white or color… add text…. whatever! You can find my pictures here, in my posts, or also on my flickr site (http://flickr.com/photos/daniellenoah/). Eventually I will add it to my front page but until then…
