Have you ever heard the saying… you are what you eat? Well, I think you are what you drink. In my photography class we had to create a series called the “conceptual camera”. The purpose of this assignment is to continue playing around with camera settings but at the same time make a statement on life. I decided to create a series stereotyping people and their starbucks drinks.
I have:
The businessman with the Venti Soy, Extra Hot, Double Shot, Decaf, Vanilla, Carmel Macchiato, No whip, Extra Foam
The humanitarian with the Ethos Water
The puppy who keeps it real and simple with tap water
The child with the extra whip hot chocolate
The student with the double espresso
Probably the most fun and difficult picture to capture of this group was the one with my dog. He is usually so obedient but when it is cold outside or close to raining he refuses to leave the house, let alone sit still outside next to a cup of water. Check out the process below, picture by picture, of my photoshoot with jake.

After the first two sets I had given up. Resolved to make what I had work. But then my brilliant assistant (aka mom) came home and had the idea to put Jake’s coveted bone into the water to get his attention. And it worked! Watch the sequence below as he discovers his bone, smells it, licks it, and finally tips the glass over.
